The Town of Cambridge is now on Historypin.
What is Historypin?
It's a social networking site that uses photos to tell a story about the history of a place or as the site says: "Historypin is a way for millions of people to come together, from across different generations, cultures and places, to share small glimpses of the past and to build up the huge story of human history." Tip 1: You can view items that have been pinned to the map as a 'list', as a 'collection', in 'tours' and as history 'mysteries'.
Tip 2: Items can also be viewed by searching the map. Click on one of the pins to see more detail.
Tip 3: Items can be viewed in a 'list' format. Click on the thumbnail of any image to see more information about that specific photo, to make comments and/or to add to the information provided about the image.
Below is an example of the information provided when you click on the thumbnail of an image.
Tip 4: Using the 'collections' tab on a channel you can view items that have been pinned in a category or subject area, for example: the construction of the Perry Lakes Stadium, Holyrood Street in West Leederville and the Wembley Golf Complex. (more collections will be added over time).
